Tasting notes
Although we like to use local ingredients, we have to head further South to find a fresh supply of buffalo milk! The cheese is soft and creamy in texture with a luxuriously smooth, tangy flavour that is surprisingly light on the palate.
Buffalo Blue is made from pasteurised buffalo milk and is suitable for vegetarians.
Background
Buffalo Blue was the first British blue cheese made from buffalo milk. We use 100% Italian Water Buffalo milk reared by a single farmer, which helps us guarantee the quality we pride ourselves on. The cheese is made to the same base recipe as our famous Mrs Bells Blue and Yorkshire Blue but tweaked slightly to adapt to the qualities of the buffalo milk. This results in a beautiful creamy texture, which is clean and refreshing on the palate.
