Great Yorkshire Show 2025
We’re back from a very busy (and super-hot!) week at the Great Yorkshire Show!
We're back from a fantastic week at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate... a wonderful showcase of farming and rural communities... and of course cheese!
The GYS is our most local event (and one of our favourites too!) It’s a full team effort and a week away from our normal day to day work here at the farm…. but we just love it!
Despite the hot weather (we were so grateful for the Food Hall’s air con this year!) it was really great to catch up with so many of our enthusiastic and loyal customers again in person, many of whom make a beeline to visit us each year on the stand, and stock up on their favourites.
It’s also a great opportunity to meet lots of new faces too and introduce them to our cheese. A huge thank you to everyone who popped by to say hello and sample and buy, we absolutely love chatting to everyone!
The GYS is our most local event (and one of our favourites too!)
Alongside having two stands in the Food Hall, Katie and Caroline are also part of the Cheese & Dairy Show committee, which organise the huge number of entries from producers across the country into the event each year. From milk and yoghurts to ice cream and of course cheese, a huge amount of planning and some serious hours go into creating the fantastic showcase for the thousands of visitors.
Judging took place on the first day of the show, with judges coming from across the country to be involved. Representing every corner of the industry from producers and supermarket buyers to chefs and consultants, they carefully work their way through the hundreds of entries.
Being our most local event makes the GYS extra special, especially when our cheeses are up against some seriously great competition from fellow producers from across the UK.
Adding to an already superb awards season for our team, we were absolutely delighted to be awarded a total of 7(!) Golds for our Buffalo Blue, Mrs Bell's Blue, Yorkshire Blue and Organic Yorkshire Blue, along with 3 Silver medals and 5 Bronze… which, in over 3 decades of exhibiting there, is our biggest haul of Gold medals to date!!
Huge congratulations go to all those who took home medals, but particularly to our friends over at White Lake Cheese in Somerset who were awarded the Supreme Champion Cheese trophy for their beautiful Tor goat's cheese, and to South Caernarfon Creameries, who were named Champion Dairy Product for their Salted Butter – absolutely brilliant!
