Rich, complex and indulgently creamy, Blue Monday is a robust blue cow’s milk cheese, created in collaboration between Alex James, band member of Blur turned artisan cheese aficionado and Judy Bell, founder of award-winning Shepherds Purse Cheeses.
Launched in 2013, it’s faintly sweet, intensely savoury and slightly spicy notes, have gained it a legion of fans, as well as host of prestigious awards including 2 Great Taste Stars, Gold at the British Cheese Awards 2017 and a coveted Silver at the World Cheese Awards in 2018.
Featuring bold cracks and streaks of blue, it’s handcrafted using traditional methods on the farm in North Yorkshire and carefully matured for a minimum of 12 weeks, to allow its soft, creamy and delicious umami notes to slowly develop and deepen.
A cheeseboard essential for any passionate cheese lover, Blue Monday is also fantastic to cook with, adding deep, savoury flavour to everyday dishes whilst being rich and creamy enough to create the perfect sauce for steak.
