Creamy, rich and indulgently buttery, our Harrogate Blue is internationally award-winning and one of our most loved.

A cheeseboard must, but versatile enough to use in a whole host of delicious dishes for next level taste and indulgence, Harrogate Blue is not just for Christmas, it’s a year-round fridge staple too! 

 

Created in 2012 by our founder Judy’s two daughters, Katies and Caroline, it was their first collaborative cheese and immediately caught the industries attention with its full-bodied flavour and striking golden hue.

 

In 2017, Harrogate Blue was voted the 11th best cheese in the world by a panel of experts after winning an extremely prestigious (and very rare!) Super Gold at the World Cheese Awards. Immediately a modern classic, it went on to win a further 2 Golds at the World Cheese Awards in 2018 and 2019, securing its place amongst the very best.

Harrogate Blue’s distinctive colour comes from the addition of Annatto, a natural plant extract that gives the cheese its vibrant orange colour along with imparting slightly sweet and delicious peppery and nutty notes.

Lovingly handmade using traditional methods here on the family farm in North Yorkshire, our team of master cheesemakers start by using the freshest, quality milk from local cows.  With meticulous attention to detail at every stage, from carefully cutting the curds and salting by hand, to maturing under their watchful eyes for a minimum of 10 weeks, Harrogate Blue’s distinct character begins to gently develop, resulting in its unique blue veining and rind and mellow blue flavour.

Once matured to perfection, our team carefully sample each batch before its release, checking its unique character, texture and flavour profile and ensuring excellence and quality in every one before its release.  

Cheeses are then specially selected to be cut into smaller wedges, with each one methodically wrapped by hand and checked for quality, before winging their way to your local deli counter!
